The first time I met Pam, I felt super comfortable training with her. She has a very easy going, friendly personality that created a relaxed comfortable atmosphere to workout. She encouraged me to keep going even if I was tired, distracted or unmotivated. She focused on current form with each exercise, and always challenged me to do more and cheered me on to succeed. She created a workout with my needs in mind, and changed up the routine every 6 weeks, so it was new, fresh and challenging. ​I am a seventy year old woman who, although active had not participated in any exercise program in over ten years, when I started training with Pamela a year ago. My core strength was minimal, deeply affecting my mobility. I needed help and was very fortunate to find Pamela as my trainer. Through her expert and compassionate guidance, I have gained strength and confidence. She encourages me to do things that I never thought possible. She has taught me there is no such thing as “I can’t”. If I have difficulty with a certain routine, she does not repeat it over and over again, hoping for better results, she breaks down the movement to ascertain the problem.

Pam has helped me increase my strength, flexibility and endurance by creating personalized workouts which incorporate interval cardio and strength training. I have been working out with Pam for 6 months now and I have been very happy with our workouts and my results. I have a gym in my home so Pam comes to my home for our workouts. She is always on time, prepared with a workout plan, varies the workout and her rates are pretty reasonable. Pam knows her stuff and knows when to push you and when to slow it down a bit. If you have back issues, shoulder problems, etc. she takes that into consideration when planning out your workout so you don’t further hurt yourself. She will also recommend physical therapist if needed.

I work with Pam virtually doing personal training sessions. At first I was skeptical – I assumed a virtual session would not produce the same results as in-person training. I was wrong. Pam gets me to work hard (also with an understanding of my current fitness level). She often corrects my form, just the same as a trainer would in-person. She encourages me. And she gets me to show up and work out! The biggest difference is that I don’t have to waste time driving to meet her! I just wake up, put on some gym clothes, and pop down to my basement to get a good workout. You don’t even need that much equipment – Pam is very creative in coming up with exercises that are often based on my own body weight.

We use very simple equipment, using what I have on hand. I don’t have to pay any gym membership, which saves me money (not to mention the gas and time I would have spent doing the traditional in-person work). She always has a plan for my workout ahead of time, takes good notes to keep a record of what I did, and is very flexible schedule-wise. Pam is wonderful to work with and a great person. I love using Skype to do our sessions now – and I’m not sure I’d ever go back to the old way where I have to meet someone in person. I still get personalized, great workouts in the convenience of my own home. I think this method will be the wave of the future – and highly suggest working with Pam either in person or via Skype. She is an awesome personal trainer!

I have been working with Pam for about 6 months, and in that time she has proven herself to be professional, reliable and committed to my results. Plus she is just pleasant to work with! Ms. Carthew is always on time for our sessions but has been flexible when I’ve needed to reschedule or have been running a little late. She gives me a good workout, but doesn’t push me to the point where I don’t want to workout with her again. Her workouts are planned ahead of time, and she takes notes (which I know from experience is rare for a personal trainer to do), so there are reference materials to look back upon later to see my improvement.

Plus, she regularly comes up with new exercises for me to do, which keeps things fresh and challenges my body. While may trainers simply do the same set of exercises over and over again, Pam is creative and puts thought ahead of time into what exercises I will do during our sessions together. She is pleasant, makes me laugh, and shows an interest in how I’m doing outside the gym. Pam is supportive of my fitness goals and life goals in general, and I’ve really enjoyed working with her.
